Raphael Varane On Adapting To The Premier League

French center back Raphael Varane says the Premier League is the best league in the world after 6 months in England.

“The intensity is very different,” said Raphael Varane.

“The pace of the game is at a really high level. It’s a great experience. I like the atmosphere around the stadiums.

“I like the mentality. It’s very intense but always in good spirits and very positive. This experience for me is great.”

“The games are very difficult,” said Varane. “You can’t be relaxed, you can be winning a game and you know, if you have 10 minutes to play, anything can happen.

“I think it’s the best league in the world and the intensity is absolutely amazing. Every team has players with top quality.

“Tactically, it’s a very high level and there are a lot of players and coaches from everywhere. So it’s a mix of different cultures and different styles of players and of mentality.

“I think that’s why the league is top, because it’s the best from everywhere, you know.”

Raphael Varane has three La Liga titles and four Champions League titles to his name from his time at Real Madrid.

As well as that, he has a World Cup winners medal from the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia. In spite of this, he has not made the difference to Manchester United’s defense many thought he would.

The signings of Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho should have catapulted Manchester United upwards in the table. However, the club continues to be a basket case on and off the pitch.

It’s not as if Varane is in the twilight of his career like Ronaldo. He is 28, and these ought to be the prime years of his career. He is spending them playing next to Harry Maguire.
