Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is a solid bet for the first Premier League manager to lose their job this season.
After three and a half years of inconsistency, it appears Ralph Hasenhuttl has run out of ideas. Following their opening day thrashing away at Spurs, reports suggested he has lost the trust of the dressing room.
As well as that, Southampton is now under new ownership. The new hierarchy could well be considering a change because they are in danger of relegation.

Southampton are 23/10 to go down with Paddy Power. This means that aside from the newly promoted teams, only Everton are considered a bigger risk.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is also 2/9 to get sacked, the second favourite ahead of only Frank Lampard. One suspects that Lampard and Everton are only considered safer because it is still a new project at Goodison Park.
Southampton’s issues with consistency are outlined perfectly by their end to last season. They won 3-2 away at Spurs in February, but went on to win just one of their next twelve games.
Hasenhuttl has no credit left with the fans after his three and a half seasons. Two 9-0 defeats ought to have been enough of a red flag. However, his tenure has also featured inspiring wins against Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal.
It is no longer a case of giving the manager enough time to find consistency. The fluctuations in form and heavy defeats are Hasenhuttl’s consistency.

Southampton are younger this season too, so you can expect them to be even more consistent. They revamped his coaching staff over the summer rather than sack him, so he may be given the first half of the season before the World Cup to get the team in a good position.
Although the reports of dressing room unrest aren’t encouraging, and it seems Hasenhuttl will only last so long. Expect Southampton to sack him midway through the second half of the season and gamble on a new manager bounce to keep them up.
