Jose Mourinho Gives Spurs X Factor, For Better Or Worse

New Spurs manager Jose Mourinho helped the team qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League on Tuesday.

Their second win in two games since Mourinho took over, Spurs came from behind to beat Olympiakos 4 – 2.

After going two down in 19 minutes Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Serge Aurier rescued a memorable result for Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho appears to be building a bit of momentum. However, as we all know, it doesn’t always last. Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has warned the squad about the dark side of Jose Mourinho.

“They have got to get used to it the players,” Sherwood said.

“They have got to get used to the dynamics of this type of manager.

“They’ve had Pochettino for five years.

“Now even when they weren’t playing well, he would protect them, publicly.

“Jose will throw you under a bus.

“I am not saying it is right or whether it is wrong.

“Jose Mourinho does not care.

“He does what he thinks is right, for the team, not the individual player.

“So if it means digging a player out in public and using him as an example, he will do that.

“Because he feels that is the best way to win trophies. Why would you change it?”

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy won’t mind Jose’s outbursts, at least at first. He’s long wanted Tottenham to get to the point where they can attract a coach like Mourinho. He might be past his best, but Jose has a strong track record of winning trophies – the one thing Tottenham have lacked in recent years, despite their improvement.

With all the speculation of Tottenham being ramped up for a sale, Mourinho gives them that box-office feeling.
