Alan Brazil: Paul Pogba a “Spoiled Brat”

The Jose Mourinho season 3 meltdown continues as the row between him and World Cup winner Paul Pogba continues.

Following Manchester United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Derby on Tuesday, Pogba was stripped of the vice captaincy.

Given the circus-like atmosphere surrounding Manchester United and Jose Mourinho these days, much has been made of the decision.

All in all, it won’t make much of a difference. After all, it’s only the vice captaincy. Pogba only wears the arm band when the real captain, Antonio Valencia isn’t playing. However, it is definitely a statement from Mourinho. He is showing Pogba, and everyone else, who’s boss after Pogba made more critical comments to the press.

After UTD were eliminated on penalties by Derby at Old Trafford, Pogba said that they should attack more.

He’s not wrong – the performance against Derby was limp and ineffective. A team of their quality should be capable of more at home against inferior opposition. Pogba didn’t mention Mourinho specifically, but the message was clear. He’s not happy with Jose Mourinho and his negative tactics.

Considering the huge marketing appeal of Pogba and the public distaste for Mourinho, many are siding with the frenchman.

However, not everybody thinks that the midfielder is in the right here. An ex Man UTD Player has come out today with some choice words for Paul Pogba.

Speaking on TalkSport on Thursday morning, ex-Man UTD striker Alan Brazil has labelled him a “spoiled brat”.

“Whether it’s Jose’s fault or Pogba’s fault, I don’t care. He is the manager, he is the boss. Pogba is a spoilt brat who has been average for United this season, at best,” he said.

“I like Jose. It’s not easy and he’s not doing a fantastic job at the moment. But he can’t be undermined by this guy.”

Either way, it’s a situation that has become untenable. Barcelona are rumoured to be desperate to sign Pogba. Their best chance of doing so would be in the summer, but if things continue as they are, Pogba may be heading out of Old Trafford in January.
