Which Premier League Manager Will Lose His Job Next?

The Premier League managerial market could be about to explode.

Every season follows the same path where the hiring and firing of managers is concerned. We’ll have the first casualty of the season, in this case, Mauricio Pochettino. This usually sets off a chain reaction as chairmen panic and try to salvage their season.

Following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Tottenham manager, increased scrutiny has fallen on clubs whose managers’ time appears to be up to take action.

Namely Everton, Arsenal and West Ham, who have all reached something of a plateau under their current coaches.

Everton manager Marco Silva is the favourite Premier League manager to be sacked next, at 2/9. Silva walked into Goodison Park with the promise of a big-club mentality and attractive football.

It’s safe to say that he hasn’t delivered that, as Everton continue their muddled form. Despite the talent in the team, it’ll be another mid-table season for them.

At Arsenal, Unai Emery has lost the trust of the fans, and the Arsenal board will surely soon follow. His remit was to return Arsenal to the Champions League this season, and at the end of November, it already looks like a lost cause. Arsenal lie in 8th in the Premier League table, and Unai Emery is 7/2 to lose his job.

After a promising start last season, Manuel Pelligrini is being found out at West Ham. Their indifferent form has caused some pundits to accuse 66 year old of ‘phoning it in’. Mark Noble’s critical public comments about the team won’t have helped him, either. Pellegrini is 6/1 to be sacked.

The problem for these teams is; what replacements are available? There is of course Mauricio Pochettino. However with his connection to Spurs, he may not take another Premier League job. As well as that, he’ll have his pick of Europe’s top clubs to choose from for his next position.

Beyond that, it’s Max Allegri, or perhaps the unproven Mikel Arteta? It’s a stick or twist situation for Arsenal, West Ham and Everton.
