Bukayo Saka En Route To Becoming Face Of England

Arsenal and England forward Bukayo Saka rounded off his season in style at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Bukayo Saka scored an eye-catching hat trick in England’s 7 – 0 win over North Macedonia. It was the first hat trick of his career and underlines his prominence for the England national team.

He’s the first Arsenal player to score a hat trick for England since Theo Walcott in 2008 and this is significant. Bukayo Saka is thriving for club and country and nobody is coming to take his position any time soon.

An academy player, Saka has started every Premier League game for Arsenal for two consecutive seasons.

He’s just had his best season production-wise, with 15 goals and 11 assists for Arsenal. Factor in three goals and an assist for England at the World Cup and Saka is a player excelling both domestically and internationally.

Aged just 21, he hasn’t even begun to peak in terms of end product. Although, he is already developing a number of signature finishes, which were on display against North Macedonia.

His first goal was a trick he’d done twice for Arsenal in the Premier League. Set free in the right hand side of the box, he rifled the ball into the top corner on his weaker foot.

His second, after a glorious Trent Alexander-Arnold pass, was the archetypal right winger coming onto his left foot on the edge of the box and finding the top corner.

There has been an air of inevitability about Saka for a while now, even missing the final penalty in the Euro 2020 final didn’t stop him. In fact he went on to be Arsenal’s penalty taker, registering spot kicks against Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Harry Kane recently became England’s all-time leading goal scorer, but his days are numbered. Saka is waiting literally and figuratively in the wings to take over as England’s talisman.
