In entirely predictable news, Antonio Conte has been let go from his position as manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
Antonio Conte made his position untenable with his incredible rant after Spurs’ 3-3 draw with Southampton. His following clarification that his words were aimed solely at the players were never going to smooth things over.
Antonio Conte insulted the players and the owner and the, as he sees it, mediocrity that permeates the entire club.

He’s had to throw a few strops in his time, but that one was the best. Setting fire to everything in order to get fired is a tried and tested Conte tactic. Spurs may have been aware that this was always going to happen, but it does leave them at a crossroads.
“We can announce that head coach Antonio Conte has left the club by mutual agreement,” a club statement read.
“We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the club, we thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.
“Cristian Stellini will take the team as acting head coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as assistant head coach.”
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy added: “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our club and amazing, loyal supporters.”

Having crashed and burned with two glamour managers, a change of approach is now needed at Spurs. Julian Nagelsmann is the most heavily linked name after he was unceremoniously fired by Bayern Munich.
Nagelsmann is a very good coach, and a very good young coach at that. Unlike Conte and Mourinho, his tactics are tailored for this era rather than the one just gone. If they can convince him to come, Tottenham might just land on their feet.
