The halfway point of a season is a good time to take stock and evaluate. At this point, the race for the Premier League Golden boot is established, with 6 firm favorites.
No player has completely run away with it at the top of the scoring charts yet. In fact, Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane are all in joint first place.
Mohamed Salah – 5/4
Mohamed Salah is currently the overwhelming favourite to win the Premier League Golden Boot. Over the past few weeks, he has put to bed any talk of second season syndrome and picked up where he left off. The talisman of Liverpool’s potential title-winning attack, Salah will score a bucket load more in the remaining games. He has 14 goals so far.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 11/5
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a world class player who doesn’t catch the eye. He is a pure finisher, and his goals are the reason Arsenal are anywhere close to the top four. Aubameyang’s record since joining Arsenal is quietly brilliant. If he stays fit, he could add to his 14 current goals, and win the Premier League Golden Boot in his first full season.

Harry Kane – 8/1
What can we say about Harry Kane? The man is a goal machine. Despite having been overplayed since the start of last season, including a world cup over the summer, he has 14 league goals to his name. His scoring record is all the more impressive considering he’s been played as more of a number 10 this year.
Eden Hazard – 16/1
Chelsea’s talisman isn’t usually in this conversation, but he’s being played up front by Sarri this season. With 10 goals so far, he could easily get 20 league goals if he doesn’t end up as the top scorer.
Sergio Aguero – 13/2
Sergio Aguero is currently lagging behind with just 10 goals, but don’t count him out. He plays for Manchester City and is a player of enduring class. There were several points over the last three years where it appeared he would fall away only to come back. If City put together a title-winning run, count on Aguero to score a hatful of goals.
Raheem Sterling – 40/1
With 10 goals so far, the odds on Raheem Sterling being the league’s top scorer are long. However, the last two years have seen him find his touch in front of goal. He has become a tap in merchant, as well as a scorer of vital goals. If he’s kept pace with Aguero so far, why couldn’t he challenge the league’s top strikers?
