Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool looked like ‘us’ after they ended their 5 game winless streak in the league against Tottenham.
Liverpool ran out 3 – 1 winners with goals from Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane.
It could have been different, though. Spurs had a Son goal disallowed for a marginal offside after VAR review. The stroke of luck seemed to galvanize Liverpool, who started the second half in blistering form with two goals in two minutes.
The finishes from Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane were emphatic, and it speaks to a team who rediscovered something that was lost. Especially for Mane, who fluffed a golden chance early on. Even a disallowed Mohammed Salah goal was lashed into the top corner.

“What I saw today, it’s not about shape or form actually, it’s like who we are and that’s us. In the second half especially, that was us,” said Jurgen Klopp. There was a massive fight and football on top of that.
“I don’t know the numbers but apart from a few minutes in the first half, I don’t remember that they had a lot of the ball but it was always really quick with the counter-attacking and we defended really well. It was a good performance and I saw a lot of things I wanted to see.”

However, Jurgen Klopp has more injury worries after Fabinho couldn’t play and Joel Matip had to go off at half time. Critics have wondered why Liverpool, who are struggling for form, haven’t signed defensive reinforcements in the current transfer window. Jurgen Klopp says any new signing has to be the right fit for the club.
“You can imagine that we think about everything,” said Klopp.
“Of course, we thought the whole time, we think the whole time, it’s about doing the right thing it’s not, I’m not picky or whatever, but we need to find the right player.”
