16-Year-Old Harvey Elliot made his debut for Liverpool in a pre season friendly against Napoli on Sunday.
Harvey Elliot completed his move from Fulham earlier that day and was put straight into the squad.
The Reds beat Napoli twice last season, but lost 3 – 0 to the Italians in this friendly. Despite the disappointing result, manager Jurgen Klopp took heart from the performances of young players.
Elliot in particular showed some deft touches towards the end of the game.
“The start was good and the finish was good, because of the young boys coming in,” he said.
“They brought some freshness and were cheeky and that looked nice.”

Harvey Elliot is tipped to have a big future, and Jurgen Klopp clearly agrees.
“That’s why he is here. I could say so many positive things about the boy.
“He came here, he decided for us and could have gone pretty much everywhere but he wanted to be part of Liverpool.
“The stories with the boy start early and already he is the youngest ever Premier League player and has broken quite a few records because of his talent.
“Now he is here so let’s work with him. He needs game time, we will see where he gets that but he is obviously a fine, fine footballer and that’s why we were really interested.”
Apart from that, Klopp was keen to stress that the loss won’t follow Liverpool into the new Premier League season.

“We now have to fight at the start of the season 100 per cent with all we have.
“The good thing is if the opponents want to analyse us now then they think ‘easy job’ – but we will be a different animal next week.
“We conceded two simple goals, lost the ball and each ball we lost was a proper counter-attack. But you have to defend better or keep the ball better or keep a better formation.”
