These past days we’ve enjoyed the unique jeopardy of matchday 3 group stage football, and Tuesday will be no different. Tonight sees the conclusion of Groups C and D with qualification at stake for England, Denmark, Slovenia, Serbia. The Netherlands, France and Austria also play for a knockout berth.
As Italy showed against Croatia on Monday, everything can change in an instant. With all four teams in with a chance of qualifying from Group C, it could be a nervy night.

France VS Poland
Thanks to Austria, Group D is still live. While Poland have already been eliminated, France still has to beat them to qualify. As of this morning it’s still unclear whether or not Kylian Mbappe will play. If he is unavailable, it could be a difficult night for France.
Netherlands VS Austria
The traditional dark horses like Croatia and Belgium have underwhelmed so far. Thankfully, Ralph Rangnick’s Austria have provided good value. The hard-pressing, physical, energetic side could even top the group ahead of France and Holland.
Denmark VS Serbia
Any team can qualify from Group C, but draws would suit the first and second sides England and Denmark. Their opponents, Slovenia and Serbia, can give us the chaos we want if either of them win. It would be a timely evening for either Denmark of Slovenia to register their first W of the tournament.
England VS Slovenia
There’s a little bit of tit-for-tat developing between the England team and the national media. However, England are top of the group and could assure fans by qualifying first place tonight. Slovenia currently occupy third, but could top the group if results go their way. The only question for England is how much energy they have left in the tank. The likes of Saka, Rice, Kane, Bellingham and Foden are a tournament-winning core. However, playing in a less sophisticated system while dealing with the fatigue of a long season could undo them.
