Dele Alli views his move to Everton as a chance to resurrect his career under new Toffees manager Frank Lampard.
Frank Lampard was appointed Everton manager this week after a tumultuous period for the club. Everton announced the signing of Dele Alli from Spurs shortly afterwards.
Dele Alli needs a new start after falling dramatically from grace at Tottenham. He looked destined for superstardom for a time, but has not had a good relationship with Spurs’ last three managers.

“Speaking to him and admiring him so much as a player, and what he’s done so far as a manager – I think it’s amazing,” said Alli.
“He knows me very well as a player and I know the tactics he likes and how he likes to play, and how he likes his teams to work. So, I feel like it’s a perfect match and I can’t wait to get going.
“Being an attacking midfielder and, obviously, he scored a lot of goals as well as a midfielder – I’ll speak to him a lot about that and what he did as a player to make the most of his talent.”
On paper, it makes perfect sense. The jury is still very much out on Frank Lampard’s ability as a Premier League manager. However, one thing is certain: he made Mason Mount’s career.
If Lampard can mentor Alli to the same effect then Everton will have an incredible player on their hands. Although, this is only on paper and this is Everton we’re talking about.

Everton has long been a place where players, attacking midfielders in particular, have tried and failed to rediscover their form. See; Alex Iwobi, James Rodriguez et al.
Frank Lampard and Dele Alli’s fates are now intertwined. This has to work for both of them.
