The race for Champions League and Europa League places is likely to go until the final games of the season. Both Arsenal and Wolves have a chance to put themselves in a good position as the second half of the season kicks off.
Currently, just 6 points separate West Ham in 4th place and Wolves in 8th place. It’s entirely feasible that one of Manchester United, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves could be in fourth place heading into the final two games and wind up finishing 8th.
As well as that, the schedule is truncated, leading to all sorts of possible permutations and shifts in power.
Recent poor results for Spurs and Manchester United means the Arsenal VS Wolves game on Thursday is even more important than it already was.

With a win, the Gunners can move into 5th ahead of Manchester United and one point behind West Ham with two games in hand. A Wolves win would send them into 6th and relegate Arsenal to 7th and Spurs to 8th.
Of these four teams, Manchester United look the weakest and Wolves lack the experience in this situation. Unfortunately for Gunners fans, Tottenham aren’t going away anytime soon and are probably the favorites for fourth.
West Ham have rallied of late, but have played more games than everyone else. Once the schedule evens out, they will be around 6th or 7th.
Mikel Arteta is relying on a young squad lacking in depth to put together the kind of consistency they haven’t yet shown.

Arsenal should have enough to beat Wolves, the problem is it’s an away game. They have struggled away in contrast to their good home form.
They have also struggled against teams in, around and above them. If they are to challenge Spurs, they’re going to have to be the masters of the big occasion at least once in the remainder of this season. That has to start tonight against Wolves.
