Arsenal’s 1 – 0 defeat to Nottingham Forest the day before secured their title with three games remaining.
Manchester City still beat Chelsea, obviously, and now look towards a potential treble. They face Manchester United in the F.A Cup final on June 3rd and Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10th.

In the meantime, they have two Premier League games left to play against Brighton and Brentford. In long since dead Arsenal daydreams, those are two tough games in which City could drop points.
Now they’re dead rubbers, and the question is whether that’s a good thing for this City team at the moment. They’ve been in obliterating form lately having not lost a game since February.
Since then, they’ve played 24 games, winning 20 and drawing four. City have peaked at the right time, reaching the Champions League final by thrashing Real Madrid 4 – 0 and winning the Premier League in the same week.
Now they will need to ensure that week is a continuation, not the culmination of their form. Look at Liverpool last year, who were so close to winning the quadruple, but didn’t.

Look at Pep Guardiola who, despite his brilliance, can be his own worst enemy. He has quite a long run up to two massive finals to contend with, and last time he reached the Champions League final he inexplicably played without a defensive midfielder.
City have risen to the demands of this season with an effortless invincibility. With two games with nothing riding on them followed by two with everything riding on them, will they be able to maintain it?
