Arsenal Have Chance To Go Five Points Clear With Everton Win

All eyes will be on the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night as Arsenal seek revenge against Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Everton beat Arsenal 1-0 a few weeks ago in Dyche’s first game as manager. Arsenal didn’t play well that day, but mostly they were out-fought.

They have a chance to put it right in the home game, but there is more at stake than pride. This is Arsenal’s game in hand over Manchester City. Win, and they will be five points clear at the top of the table.

It’s a position they may not have found themselves in considering the Everton loss resulted in a loss of form. After that, they drew with Brentford and lost to Manchester City.

Two good away wins coupled with a City draw at Forest means Arsenal have their destiny in their hands. They faltered against Manchester City, so they must handle the pressure better against Everton.

“It’s a case of doing things better than we did when we played them a few weeks ago and earning the right to win the game,” said manager Mikel Arteta.

“Hopefully tomorrow we will play much better than we did that day.

“It’s like with any opponent. We showed [the players] what they do, what they are about, what we expect to do to try to beat them and nothing different.”

“With Sean [Dyche], it’s quite clear what he’s done and where the success they’ve had is coming from. Tomorrow we’ll prepare the game in an appropriate and similar way [to the away match].”

The Emirates has been a huge factor in Arsenal’s form this season. With the crowd behind them, they ought to get the three points.
